Are you taking about the Colombian catfish, five finned shark, grey finned shark, etc. Gets about a foot or bigger, needs room to swim, does best in a school and should be in at least brackish water as it gets bigger. If it's not that one then ignore everything I just said.

They're pretty cool little fish. Little being a relative term. They get pretty big, about a foot like said above and are fairly active swimmers. When they are small I believe they like fresh water then as they grow they like progressively more salty water I believe until they are in full salt. Again, like said above, they like schools. Theyre really cool fish though!

The data sheets you find on the net, including the one I linked, are usually written by people who know what they are talking about :)

Unfussy feeders. Do not hide - love to swim around constantly (= larger than usual tank) and like each others company. Grow to 1'-1.5'. Compared to an average exotic fish, which survive to adulthood rarely in people's care, these cats stand an even 10-100 times smaller chance, mostly because of their water requirements, as stated above. Usually circumb to ich as a result of discomfort in their water.

Their spine sting is real painful. They will prey on any tankmates that can fit in their mouth, so they have to be much larger than that.

They need some salt in their water right from the get-go and require more and more as they age. Once they're adults I'd keep them around 1.010 specific gravity. The juvies should be kept around 1.005. They're also a schooling fish and enjoy their own company.
