Silver Gar/ Hujeta Gar

I have seen these fish at my LFS and i have been reading up on them ever since. They seem like a quite an interseting fish to keep so i was wondering if i could keep them with the cichlids i have?

I have 1 Wild Green Severum at about 7 inches
2 gold severums at about 5 inches
1 texas at 3-4 inches along with some other fish.

Will the texas cause them problems?

Also, im not keen on feeding live fish to other fish so what else will they eat?
I use frozen, flake and cichlid pellets at the moment along with the occasional fruit and veg and prawns.

BTW i know they are not true gars.

Hi

I have currently have 3 Hujetas. I kept them before with silver dollers and an ATF.
Not too sure about your cichlids compatabililty, i cant see any probs.
Live food isn't needed. I've always used Hikari cichlid gold and they slam it down.
Great surface fish, i highly recommend them.
