Today after feeding my fishes in my main tank a good fat meal.... then went to feed my other fishes in another tank, when i came back i noticed my 22" Silver had something black hangin out on the sides of its mouth looking like whiskers... and when i got closer to the tank it turned out to be that my aro had just ate one of my 7" bala shark!!!! EVEN after being fed a big meal too... WTF!! And the thing hangin out of its mouth was my bala's tail! :nilly: My bala will be missed. :(

guess they were fighting for the "big meal" of your .
srry bout ur loss tho

thats really very sad..sorry about your loss buddy. but why would a well fed aro go for other fishes. maybe if was not full or it just hated the bala or it ate the bala up by mistake probably.

same thing happen with my shark, my 21" silver had it in his mouth but the tail is hanging out, so I yanked it out the mouth thinking It will be save but the damage has been done and the other cichlid are starting to nibble the poor shark so for the shark not to be wasted, I put it in the piranha tank so he will die a quick death.

I thought about yanking it out too... but my shark didn't seem to have any life left cause there were no movement from the tail. so i just let my silver finish.

Now that the whole shark has been gulped down... and you can see that my aro has a big lumpy stomach, will it digest ok??? I still wouldn't want anything to happen to my Silver.

Wow, sounds to me like he was letting you know he was still hungry....next time dont stop feeding till hes done

I don't know if i can afford to do that hahaha... i mean my silver can eat ALOT lol. It usually doesn't try to attack anything after being fed.
btw... i like your avatar, thats hilarious...

Just remember, these carniverous fish will eat anything that fits in their mouths if they are hungry. They don't just do it for spite.

wow i guess it wasnt enough, srry for ur loss
