My silver arowana is growing and looking good but he won't eat with me in the room and hides behind my overflow box. He is about 11" and has 2 tank mates a small datnoid and a small peacock bass. He is growing but never comes out and I have had him about 3 months. Any ideas how to get him to come out with the lights on? I would love to show him off but he isn't interested. I have a few small artifical plants driftwood and some rocks nothing at the top for him to hide under. Also I don't think this is a baby thing since he is 11" but that's why I am asking. Thanks for all the help.

8ft 240 gallon. The only current I have is from the 2 canister filters. They are rated at 700 gph but they are probably only about 400 with the head loss and filled with media. I havent seen and fish pick on him. I should also mention that he has freaked out a time or 2 when I have entered the room. He dinged up his nose the other day on tank cover.

Anybody else got anything?

Try approaching aquarium slowly, and sitting there a few minutes while Aro is eating so it can get use to you being there. Personally wouldn't have people rushing up to aquarium until Aro is comfortable.
