Silver Hujeta Gar??

Cool looking fish. Grow to about a foot and are not very active. They usually just hang out around the top of the tank waiting for food. The love live feeders and will even except dead food like silversides. I don't know of anyone who has gotten them to eat pellets. I kept two of them in a 150 with bichirs and all was well until I added my Gold Wolves and one day my 8" wolf decided to try and eat my 7" hujeta. Hujetas are not very tough fish so I wouldn't put them with anything that will attack or stress them.

Great pickup, they're best is groups as they school, but two will be fine together. I have 4 and they swim around from one end to another. The only thing besides feeders that mine eat is bloodworms. Those look awful skinny so go ahead and fatten them up! One of my favorite fish that I have, and they're always a thrill to watch eat.

yup, as Mystus pointed out it is cool to watch the jab at their prey. ;)

currently got 5 of them. Currently accepting floating dried krill, food sticks, silversides, carnivore pellets and live food once in a blue moon. It's possible to get them off of live fod, just IMO. Also, wehn i had floating plants in top of my tank my bichirs were hiding in the foliage and eating them. Since removing them they were fine. Still haven't seen any to reach a foot yet. Cool fish none the less.
