a 20 tall has the same footprint as a 10 so I would give it a month or 2 at the most.

yep. its gonna be done by the end of the mnth and then im gonna cycle it.
so ill only keep it in there for a a month or two at the most.

not long, espetally because it is a high 20 gallon, what are the dimetions of your 20?
 
a twenty high has a 24" by 12" footprint, think he will be good in there up to about 6", so you've probably got 3 months.
