Silver just jumped!

I woke up early today to find my silver on the ground (and the lid of my tank was still on) ... apparently he just hit it so within a few minutes after I put him in he started swimming around again. However, a lot of his body slime is coming off (at least thats what I think it is). Should I be doing something (e.g. adding some chemical) to help him out and should I do a water change?

add some aquarium, raise the temp. at bit and add some Stress Coat and Stess Zyme as he must have been in so much stress due to not being in water for some period...
