So Cal 909
my silver has a white spot on his nose from rubbing against the tank what do i need to do to stop him from doing this

Does your Fish have other tank mates? Sometimes aggressive actions from the other fish will turn shy/weak fish to going back and forth along the glass. The white spot is either an open wound from this or a "Growth" that occurs in many/some captive raised fish. If it is a wound, MedPlex and Stress Coat are good "First Steps." But if it is a "Growth", don't worry about it. Over time it will disappear as the fish grows and is feed well.

I hope this helps, but if any other MFKs out there, Please help too. :)

how long have you had him?? and how big is he? I see he is in your 125, if he has any size to him then the tank is too small. that can cause them to rub the glass. if he is new that will stop when he gets used to the tank.

to heal it just add aquarium salt at the rate of 1 tablespoon to 10 gallons. that will heal it and you don't have to buy meds.

thanks alot guys i appreciate it i think its his tankmates cause b4 he was fine ill add salt and keep him solo hope this works oh i got the temp @ 85 should it be higher lower or keep it the same

85 seems a little bit high but it is within their tolerance. I would target a temp of 80-82.

my advice get a BIGGER tank...atleast a 250 espically if hes over 12" im sure thats what it is he dosnt have enough room to swim or hes bein stressed by tank mates

also have you tested your water lately? how were the readings i doubt it has anything to do with that but better safe than sorry
