ok so i have a small silver aro 9 / 10 " ? maybe 12 " not measuered it .

its never been the best feeder ( ive had a few others over the years and this one has been the worst for feeding ) and its was harrased by some agressive fish when i got it then harrased by one of mine till i moved the harrasing fish . one of the "feelers " was damaged but has grown back however its not eatning now . i eventually got it eating a little but not fantastic ive had it over 6mth now mabye closer to 12 mth but recently its taken nothing at all and getting quite skinny .

i have motoro rays in the tank and i do 2 x 20% water changes a week , cold water straight from the tap. ive done similar changes with other silvers over the years but this one seems to be a problem , i feed the aro prawns as its not been a problem before . tired floating dried mealworms but not seem him take any .

the aro jumps or is skittish from time to time not sure why as there seems to be no reason for it .

any sugestions on getting the lil guy eating would be good as its been a good ffew weeks now and hes getting thin .

many thanks.

My chilli was the same a really fussy feeder, so i decide to add more fish to the tank, mainly for display purposes and it started feeding more aggresivley, dont know why jst stared to eat mentally. Check the Ph mine used to sulk if to high, and vary the diet try cockel, mussel. You could worm it to be safe as well.
Live crickets is generally a sure winner as well. Mine now loves those little blue lobsters, he cant get enough. hope this helps.

ah . i forgot about trying crickets will have to give that ago . what blue lobsters ?

ive moved him to another smaller tank now theres loads of guppies in it so if they start going missing ill asume hes eating a bit :D

ill have go get some crickets that sounds like a good thing and ill check the ph .

thanks for the sugestions :)

keep your lights off if any and ur aro is stressed, just try cricket/earthworms/nightcrawlers

I have the same problem. I've tried fresh shrimp (used to eat very well), live night crawlers, azoo arowana sticks, and I'm to the point of sticking him in a smaller tank with a bunch of feeders and/or force feeding him some of the azoo sticks soaked until soft and smooshed into a syringe. I lost another for the same reason last week, but the other two are eating well. Hate seeing them wither away.
