Silver or Leichardti

I was just wondering what everyone else thinks on this. I can get a silver around 8 in. for 60 bucks or I can get a Lei around 3 to 4 in. for 160 bucks. I don't know to much about Leis but have had silvers and jars on the past. The first tank will be 125 gallon with only a pleco in it. When it is time to upgrade there will be a 300 gallon tank setup. I would like anyone's opinion on this.

Leichardti for only $160?!?! I would definitely go with that, they are pretty rare and my lfs has a couple for $300 each!

That is what I have read but I really don't know a lot about them. Are they as aggressive as a Jardini and the one they are selling is like 2 or 3 inches long. I would actually love to get a black but way to expensive.

I hear people say lei as aggressive as jar, and less aggressive. Most people say jar mean, but mine lived with discus till the tank split when he was about 20" with NO problems. I have a lei but it is only about 5". It just depends on the fish. One thing I have never heard is a lei is more aggressive.
 
To me leis are just as aggressive towards other aros as jars. jars are way more likely to go postal on the other species in the tank
Leis don't turn very well and will eventually need a wider tank than a silver when grown out
Both sweet aros though

Wow... those prices are so different to those here in aus. Over here, even a pet store couldn't justify $160 for a lei that size. And theres no way in aus you will find a silver aro fr $60. Really boggles my mind. Anyway, my choice would be on the silver aro, I think they look way better and cheaper where you are.
 
The only real way to answer this question is to get the one you llike better. If you like the lei better and are willing to spend the money, go for it. If you like the silver better, snatch it up and save a bundle.
