silver sides?

do any of you guys use them to feed your sa/ca cichlids? i typically only run across people using them for pikes or bichirs.

Of all the S and C American cichlids kept, very few are piscivores, most are omnivorous, so occasional chunks of fish meat are fine (if the cichlids will eat it), but balanced diet pellets are much healthier approach in the long run.

I feed all mine pellets exclusively. Even my parachromis.

I give my devils a few nightcrawlers when it rains. Never tried silver sides.

Growing up on Cape Cod, I could catch them myself - and I used them to feed my fish for free (along with pellets/flakes) - it is clearly an acquired taste since some fish loved it, others wouldn't touch it.

I have fed all my fish cichlids birchirs aros knife fish pbass them as a treat about once a month. they are the frozen ones so hand feeding them is fun and the scales brain and guts are good for them. It also seems to help my female dovii want to lay eggs
