Well I am thinking about changing up my tank a bit I have recently gotten rid of 3 6-8" Lemon Fin Barbs (they are tank destroyers!!!!) and 1 Firemouth.

In there place I have gotten a Large pleco (I rather vacuum up poop then scrub algae in my 150gal:ROFL:) and a Ctenopoma acutirostr (Spotted climbing perch).

Now I am thinking of trading in my Oscar for a Silver Tiger Datnoid (i have found very little information on them but I have read they dont get any bigger then 12"s in an aquarium.)

I was wondering if it would work or not in my tank, because they cant get the other Ctenopoma I like but they do have the Datnoid in stock and I like the odd ball look but it is about $90 cad...

Here is my current stock: 1x Lutino O, 1x Convict, 1x Ctenopoma acutirostre 1x Veil Fin Angel, 1x Large Common Pleco and 3x Red Hook SD's in a 150Gal w/ Fluval FX5 and 2x Emperor 400's

How big are the silver dats? Also how big is your tank?

right now the Silver Dat is about 4-5"s and my tank is a 150gal

I actually have Ctenopomas in with my dats as well. I had a silver in with them for a little while, but I moved him into a larger tank and kept them with my small Indo dats because my ATs are BASTARDS!!

You might be fine in a 150 though, because they will have plenty of territory to claim for themselves. My ATs are still terrors, but I haven't had any issues with my NTTs and ITs with my Ctenopomas.

ok thanks for the info

also silver dats, are brackish fish. I think some ppl have had some success with them in fresh water but I think you better your chances greatly when they have a little salt, especialy when they get larger.

Since the silver are brackish I think I will try and track down a Thin Bar...
