I got a wild caught silver yesterday, compare to the blue I have the body of the silver is shorter while their heads are about the same size.
does blue have a leaner longer body and silver has a broader ans shorter body? or I just have a silver with a big head??
the silver also has some lovely fluorescent turquoise color over the body and already eating food stick like a pig couple hrs after putting it in the tank. me likey. :nilly:

The black is certainly shorter than the silver arowana and much more leaner in terms of width. Also I think the black is shorter in height than the silver arowana. The black is smaller than the silver in everything.

that's what I thought but with the head being similar size, the black/blue is longer than the silver, which makes me wonder. maybe the silver's head is smaller.
I'll see if I can take pic of both aros together.

Just depends on what you want to compare, length, weight, or head size.

Silvers have a taller body then blacks. Both have heads proportional to their body, so if you are comparing the two with similar head size the black should be longer.

Really? Blacks are longer than silver?

Anyway, the blacks certainly grow muchhhhhhh slower. the shape of the head is different too

Again depends on what you are comparing. If my 26" black had the same size head and body height as on of my 29" silvers, I estimate the black would be 35-36" long. So in proportion to head or body height, yes blacks are longer. Most would consider blacks to just say blacks have less body depth though.
