:irked: Well after owning my aro for over a year, he had his first outa tank experience.

I got a new piece of driftwood to add to the tank, so I carefully put it in the tank while my daughter kept "Huey" at bay with a net(although he seemed perfectly content to say at the oppisite end of the tank. That went well no problems. I got the top glass and light put back on the tank, then my mistake, I decided to increase the temp setting on one of the heaters. So put my arm in the tank and "BAM"!!! flying aro. Man happened so quick. So he ended up on the floor and I could hold on to him to get him back up into the tank. Luckly I had a bucket of tank water I had drained for adding the driftwood. Got him in the bucket, then into the tank.

That was 3 days ago and he is doing fine. Lost a couple scales and a few tears in his fins. Here's a few pics.

tanks looks great man. Glad to hear your aro's ok. I'm telling you you need to buy my fei feng for that tank!! He would really compliment your setup. looks awesome. Co2 really helps those swords. I can't get mine to take off

Good to hear its all good. And your tank is very easy on the eyes. Not to derail your thread, but what substrate are you using, what type of lighting and how much of it, and is there a Co2 system on the tank? I like the angel and aro mix, it looks great.

wow amazing silver!!! no dropeye? awsome pink coloration. what do you feed this guy or gal? again great fish and glad to hear all ended well.

Ain't it a shame silvers are so jumpy like that. Mine was sooo calm, and never jumped when little. Now that it's 20", I am almost afraid to open the top to feed the damn thing. He, or she, who knows, is ready to jump up to grab food as soon as I raise my arm to open the top. Tank maintenance is a nerve racking job as well. It's only a matter of time before it ends up on the floor. I'll be pissed too, it's my favorite fish.

Thanks all, my substrate is 80 pounds of flourite plus 30-40 pounds medium size natural gavel. For lighting I've got a power compact with 4 65watt 6700k lamps, also for the pics I added 2 40watt fluoresent lights. lights are on from 12:00 to 9:00pm daily. For Co2 I use 2 of the Hagan/Nutrafin "Plant grow system" I refill the fermintation mix every 2 weeks. Also to help keep Co2 from escaping I use 2 Eheim canister filters one 2226 and one Pro II 2026, keep the return flow below the surface to eliminate aggitation.

Thanks for all the comps, I will be adding my 4 clown loaches and hopefully some background plants this week end.
