Hello everyone! :)

Currently have a Silver arowana with me and he has been with me for a month since he was smaller. As he grew up, i realized he has a crooked back.

Im very sure this is not normal. Is there any way or anything i can do let it regain the straightness?

If this is a permanent disability, will it affect its growth?

Here is a picture of it, sorry for the blurry pic.

Has it ever jumped from the tank? Yours or before you got it?

Never jumped from the tank. It was mine from the lfs since it was about 4 inches.

My aro at a small size had a hump back. but, not as sharp as that hump.

Your aro's issue may be permanent.

I guess this is a serious hump back case then. Will it affect its growth size?
Poor Fella, but he's eating very well as usual.

hmmm... i remember one of my bigger aros had this problem for a while. I'm not sure if this is for certain, but I adjusted the flow direction of my FX5 away from the direct swimming space of my arowanas, and it fixed itself in a few days. IDK :o

My large aro has a crooked back, and it was of the small tank it was in. I waited too long in finding my larger tank. I don't think it will affect it's growth much. Now in the 8ft tank, it's is over 26" now at less than 1 and a half years of age

Thank you for the replies guys!
After analyzing, i think it could be my wavemaker blowing towards the silver aro swimming direction. Will try to change direction and see the outcome in a few days time. Hopefully it'll straighten back. i hope! :)

Thank You once again dudes of MFK! :D
