hey how long could i keep a silver until i have to get rid of it the foot print is 7 feet long 2 feet tall and 22 inches wide
forget about my signature

it will be a while, but it is hard to get rid of a fish that large. many LFS wont take it in. also is it possible to get a wider tank? you have the lenght long enough to keep a silver for a while, but remember it still needs room to turn

Did your tank grow a foot overnight?:screwy:

Silver aros grow on average about 1-1 1/2" per month. So figure that if you start with a 7-8" aro it will be 24" long in a year to year aand a half. Once it reaches the 24" mark there growth slows greatly to about 2" a year. So figure maybe 3-4 years in that tank of yours, once it hit 26-27" you would need to get it into a new home.

no my tank has always been that long

Have you actually measured your tank? Even the 22" width seems odd.

his tank was for sale on craigslist a while back. it was advertised 7ftx22x24 200g one week then it advertised 72x22x24 150g later on. i dont think he has meaured it.

So get a tape measure and let us have the exact dimensions of your tank. Not that a foot of length will make a whole lot of difference, it is the width that is limiting you selection of fish.
