I have just obtained a silver fry and was wondering how long after the egg sac has receded do i begin to feed him/her. All input is much appreciated since this is my first aro.

Soon as the egg sac is gone is time to begin.

that is what i figured, it is almost fully recessed, should i try feeding him/her blood worms now even though there is a tiny amount left?

Yes offer freeze dried blood worms, but remove them after a few minutes if not eaten. Your new arowana will need to be kept by itself until it is 5~6" long. It also needs pristine water conditions so keep the nitrate levels under 10ppm. Even at this small size aros are jumpers, make sure there are no openings anywhere that your aro can jump through.

Water is kept perfect, im used to this for my ray. I also made sure that there were no opening (only for filters to enter) as i have read about them jumping. Also, i started to feed FDBW and he/she enjoys them.

 You can also feed a good quality flake food. Once it is about 3" try adding some freeze dried shrimp or krill, you will need to fine a brand that is soft and remove any sharp pieces.

Good luck with your new little Monster.

bderick hit it....listen to what he says i agree....nice job
