went to my lfs north lakes aquatics in penrith england and i noticed 4 silver arowana that looked absolutly spectacular and in tip top condition there were 7" mark as i could make out (dont quote me on that) not 1 looked in my eyes to be developing drop eye just thought id let you lot know in case your looking for a silver rowana
they also had some brown discus they look pritty good as well

Mines 11" and has no DE, they usually never get it that early.
 
Mine started developing DE at 16" and definetly had it at 18" after it was moved into a new tank.
 
I guess it would depend on what DE theory you believe. I believe all silvers in covered tanks will get DE. Keeping in a pond seems to be the only way of them not getting DE, and that's even debateble.
