Silvers leis and jardinis

Hey there well as you can see I'm asking about silvers arows and leis and we'll I like jardinis so I'll include in the discussion I'm currently growing a wide variety of fish up in a 6x2x2 waiting for the 8x4x2 funds to go in my pocket lol currently have 4 peacock bass 1 Senegal birchir and 4 tinfoil barbs (foodhogs) and we'll been looking over my options as I am putting a motoro stingray in the mix in a few months as well and I want to put a arowana in the mix also what I can get here in ozland is mainly leichardts a few jardini not to common any more these 2 are both seasonal here so around Xmas time is when available there both around 100-350 and we do have a few silvers around and I really like the silvers but price is around 600-1200 so there not cheap at all anyway (sorry for rambling on) I want to know what you guys recommend as a good arowana for the mix I know jardini is basically out the question as I have kept 2 befor and plan on getting another for the 6x2x2 what's the best are leis really that aggressive would they mix well in a community situation or should I pop the wallet open when the 8x4x2 is setup.
So what is best silver or lei Asians are out of questions as they are illegal here in aus and blacks are next to impossible to get again sorry for rambling on

base on with my experienced keeping aro, it never good to mixed them IMO. Aro is nice if you have one perfect one in your tank.

I had tried
5 jar
2 lei
2 silver
1 albino
all around 6-8"

Sad to say jardini will beat them all up. Even you successfully after Jardini get up to 10" plus it will become a killer. NOT worth of trying. I have tried.
 
Get the tank first if you really want a silver or motoro.

If you want a jar or lei, get rid of the peacock bass.
 
Yea a jardini is out of the picture as I assumed haha well can't get rid of peacock bass so lei may be out aswell so silver will most likely be what I go for the plan is to have the tank be for the ray or the silver is thought about but I'm close to that time little bit more cash and off I go haha ray will be bought first and then I'll look for a silver since I'd rather not have fight occur between pbass and the lei Thanks heaps everybody any more experiences would be appreciated
 
IMO You should be fine with any Aro. I've had Australian and South American Aros with pbass. It just depends on how your Aro was raised. If your Aro grew up around other fish, it would most likely be more suitable for a community as compared to an Aro that grew up by itself.
 
Well mate you know ow where I stand on jardini lol but if you value your bass I'd try a lei they aren't as aggressive as jars no where near in most cases so you should be fine with a lei and your stock list, silvers also work but there not a patch on the Aussie aros Imo (but you already know that turtles ;) )
 
Gotta admit I love the leis and it's worth a try I'll grow him up with a few fish of course so he's more comfy around other fish I guess if a silver pops up at the right price it'll change my mind Haha all good to here they both could work in theory thanks guys
 
And if a jardini pops up it can go in the 180 ;) lol
 
That the plan evz :) the 180 will be home to a jar as soon as there back in season and I can't wait! Hopefully he will allow another fish in the tank 3rd time is the charm haha
