Anyone feeds their larger polys frozen silversides? I am hoping to varry my guys diet a bit (they usually eat market prawn). Is there anything that I should be aware of before trying this? Any reasons not to do it?

my polys love siversides more that shrimp. just make sure to keep the frozen so they don't go rank....

So what do you do with the ones that are too large (silversides, not polypterus)? Do you cut them in half or something? Also, what about the bones, guts, etc.? Do they need to be taken out before feeding, or will they be digested? The reason I ask is because some silversides are significantly larger than a typical feeder fish and I would not want their bones to cause damage if not digested properly.

larger bichirs get the bigger silversides the smaller species get the smaller siliversides
or you can cut them up into smaller chunks. just keep them frozen and any that show freezer burn i just throw out.bones seem to be no real issue.just defrost and feed -Anne
