I saw these a Walmart the other day and took a quick picture with my phone. I have never seen parrots this color it was like a light blue. Has anybody else seen these? Are they common?

i think theyre dyed

These are definetly dyed and most times they will turn orange after a few weeks, I would not by any of these because the dye shortens the fish's life because it damages thier liver,

They don't looked dyed to me.... on the ones Iv seen that are dyed you can always see a little orange...on these there is no visible coloration of orange at all....don't know what's going on with these guys but Im almost sure its not natural.. and if it is natural, I'll take all of them.....

I have never seen a dyed fish, but these guys looked that color all the way through. I know it is probably not natural but I thought they were interesting because I had never seen anything like it.

 Is there anything "natural" about a parrot? The fish looks as if it has been stripped of it's color and then dyed.

I have actually bought a dyed fish before. It was a Parrot Cichlid dyed blue just like the ones of the pic. He was the only one in the tank, so I thought I'd take him home. A few months later he slowly turned orange. I still have him today, and he is about... 4 inches. There is normally no sign of an orange color when they are dyed at this size or age, until the mature then they lose the dyed color. Purple, red, blue, green, no matter what color it is, they always go back to orange.

These fish are definitely dyed. What happens is, they are injected with color right underneath the skin. As time goes on, as many of you have already said, they will lose their dyed color and turn orange. Fish that are dyed are pretty common with the LFS around my way. They even have silver mollies injected blue and pink strips. I think I have even seen one with the word "Hi" injected on it!!
