I want to get a bigger tank for my sajica cichlids and I am thinking of just using a Rubbermaid tub and cutting a square hole in the front and use silicone to seal glass to the hole. Any problems? The tub could bending or bowing and that could break the seal. Any improvements to this Idea? Anything other simple and cheap ideas?

how large are you looking to get, buying used may be your best bet, most diy tanks that smaller than 180gal either wont work or wont be worth it to make them work
I think the pressure of the water on the container will cause it to bow out. Not only do you have to worry about your window blowing out, but you have to worry about the top of the container shifting to one side.
