I'm building something out of wood, a box, that will be placed into a tank. It will not need structural support, only water proofing. Something easy to apply, preferably black in color, non toxic, and preferably durable against scratches. Is there something I can use? Links please.

People make tanks out of plywood and seal them with epoxy. It's not toxic once it's cured, so it depends on whether you are worried about your fish or yourself. System 3 makes less toxic epoxys and they can be dyed.

yep..depending on the wood density and how large the box is it will float.

try uscomposites.com you can buy less than a gallon for your application and you have a color choice.
