Ok, I've read through the first 5 pages or so of the silicon posting. It's kind of like trying to drink from a fire hose, its a little more than I want.

I just have a simple question...which of the silicon based sealants at my local Home Depot are aquarium safe (other than the little squeeze tube that says aquarium sealant.) I want one I can use (with a caulking gun) to reseal an old metal framed 110g.

btw, I was surprised to find an old metal framed tank--when did they stop making those? But I think it should work out great after I re-caulk it. The thing is really strong, I bet you could use it as a stand for another tank it's so solid.

Thanks,
Stefan

ps I just found it this forum and I love it !

for that purpose you could use any silicone that doesn't say BIO-seal(GE i think), mold resistent, etc. just make sure to clean the glass really well and wipe it off with an alcohol swab and let it dry completely before puting the silicone on. getting a big spoon to form the silicone into the corners works really well too.
