simple sump idea?

So in the next couple of months I am setting up two 250g. I want them to share one sump, but want i to be pretty simple. I will most likely be moving again in a year and at that time do a proper fish room with more exciting plumbing. What do you think of this idea: tanks drain into a 55g drum settlement tank next to a another 55g with filter socks and some pothos, then 55g drum with K1 then 75g tank with matrix and two return pumps. The 55g drums would use uniseals and pvc. IT has a lot of components but seems pretty simple and cheap to me. Only thing is i am not sure 75g could handle enough water if power turns off. If possible would also like to put a 125g on the systerm. first sump i have had in a long long time.
