Hello, I'm looking for suggestions for a single fish in a 55 gallon tank. Was looking at a large Buttikoferi from LFS, but it looks like it might be a little too big.

Some info:

· Standard 55 gallon tank, up and running 1 year.

·Bio-wheel Filter, Fluorite Substrate, LED light.

·Currently has about a dozen minnows and a bunch of anacharis. I don't mind getting rid of these.

·I want to convert to bare-bottom for ease of maintenance.

·I don't mind upgrading filtration a bit, but do not want a sump.

·I don't want anything that will require live food all the time.

·I would rate my experience as intermediate. (Have some knowledge of water chemistry. Have successful pond, nano-reef, etc. )

Any suggestions?

Salvini
Grammode
Lyonsi
Cuban

Those are a few i can think of right off the top of my head but a 75g would give you a whole lot more options to choose from as far as aggressive central/south american cichlids go.

Get a flowerhorn man they are awesome and have great personalities. They are very personable and some turn out really nice. I have a single one in one of my 60's and I have never looked back. Here are what they look like if you've never seen one
