So the dreaded time has come that I am kind of getting tired of my fish room and not overall thrilled with my stock. I have always liked tanks with a solitary fish full of personality or species tanks. Just looking for input from experience with some great fish people have owned. Honestly the goal is to hear about some gems I have not considered. I am playing with the idea of diving into puffers or may just settle for a fahaka. For the most part tank size is not an issue(, though anything like an arapaima is too big). I do have several tanks to fill. Toying with the idea of picking up an aba aba, which is hands down my favorite fish

Goldies, cories, dwarf gouramis. Had a bluegill species tank once, it was not so much fun. Too much aggression in too small a tank.

Could do a cool molly or swordtail setup in that 55 and breed the babies for feeders. A little more interesting than plain old guppies imo.

If you decide on swords, I recommend Xiphophorus montezumae. Ridiculous long swords on this type.
