Who keeps just one in a community setting with other similar temperament fish? I have three and all they do is fight. Thinking of getting rid of two but heard they do better in groups?

That's normal behavior for cichla, I had my kelberi alone with an Oscar and 4 indo dats and he just fought with all of them. I have not seen a single cichlid or cichla not flare and fight with one another its just normal behavior. I would keep all three of your peocock bass and add dithers like silver dollars (wide bars) etc. Also what size tank do you have? Size of bass? Water temp? Water change schedule?

They don't bother the Oscars, giant gourami , green terror or pleco. Just each other. Don't hurt each other. Just flare and hit each other while splashing water out! 240 gal. Bass are 12" temp is 80, change 30% 3x weekly, 55gal sump and 3 ac 500

So you dont want water to splash out? Then I wouldn't keep peocock bass lol, I take a bath in tank water every feeding. I guess you could try it but I didnt have any luck with it.
