I am planning on obtaining a 125g set up later this year, and have not settled on the occupant(s). My consideration up to this point has been to stock it lightly with some mid-sized fish. However, I have been recently kicking around the idea of having just one, largish (commensurate with the tank), somewhat unique, uber aggressive monster. Something that would relish having a place of its own, and bent on eating any that would dare enter. Any one do that currently, or in the past? I am up for any suggestions, cichlids , catfish, etc..

I currently have a single Amphilophus Sagittae (cousin of Midas, Red Devil) in a 125 and exactly describes what you are looking for.

I have the scars to prove it.....lol

So ya get a single male from the Amphilophus family and you cant go wrong.
