Looking for a potential stocklist for the 29g bowfront tank I have just sitting around.

Would it be possible to fit the typical 1 male to 3 females in this size of tank?

My girlfriend is particularly fond of labidochromis caeruleus, or are there any other species that would do well by themselves in a 29?

thanks in advance

The Labs would work w/that ratio in that volume. Some dwarf Mbuna or smaller Tangs could also work.

I vote for saulosi, as the females are similar to labs and you get the blue bar males also. And you could always go with Demasoni, but would need 12+ to keep aggresion down. They're both my fav Mbuna dwarves out there:

shellies!

^ agreed. shellies are awesome =] Small, look cool and very cute.

All are very good choices!

I'd go with shellies too, specifically with ocellatus, which are among the most amusing cichlids to watch go about their business IMO

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think we have decided on a group of Saulosi, granted we can find them here. We only have one lfs that isnt a petsmart here so tracking some of these fellows down could be a bit of a project.

Cool, online retailers are def an option, I've had great success with them, just snoop around and read reviews on the forum to see which ones. Here's a pic of the coolest Saulosi tank I've ever seen, it's a smaller tank too. I've always wanted to mimic this tank someday, good luck:
