We were set to give up on brackish when our GSP (whim we have NEVER had good luck with) passed away.
We tore down the tank, cycled it for fresh, and had a few fish in and out of it.
On our anniversary, my fiance and I were at wal-mart, looking at the fish, when they had a few good-looking Dragon gobies in. Picking what we hoped was the best of the bunch, we brought it home, and acclimated "her" to the 29 gallon (our only "empty" tank) and a couple of days later (after we got her eating shrimp pellets and algae wafers) we changed out the gravel for well-rinsed playsand, and added a 1/2 c salt.
a week later, Brian bought some balloon mollies for that tank, and even though we ended up with 1 female, 3 males. We drip acclimated, and turned them loose, a couple days after that, we upped the salt by 1/2 c (1 gallon) a few days ago, we added the rest of our salt when we did a waterchange, putting in about 3 cups, slowly, over the course of an hour.
Our dragon goby is still doing great, our mollies are dandy, and we plan on getting more females.
When we establish whether or not we'll have luck with her, is when we'll work on a bigger tank for her. I have a 75 tall that needs resealed that I'll fix up for her.
BTW, her name is Charybdis.
this piece of slate has been removed in favor of a flagstone cave at the front of the tank. See second picture.
