Hey Guys,

Have any of you got methods of sinking bog wood, ive been boiling it and its been anchored in my tank for about three weeks and still wont sink!! lol

Might have to invest in a new piece otherwise :(

Thanks

It usually takes months for the wood to sink on its own. It depends on how big it is and how dry the wood was before you started the boiling and anchoring in the tank.

Jeezo its driving me mad lol, i think im gonna go up to the old abandoned slate quarry tomorrow and see if i can use that to hold it down.

Thanks man :)

Thats a very stubborn piece of bogwood

I tied weights/heavy rock onto the wood but eventually, after a long time it will sink.
But if you dry it up again, it doesnt sink again

Prolly just something with the wood that doesnt let it sink no matter how hard you try.
Give it a few more and see, or get another piece

Yeah im gonna just persivere and hope for the best, was hoping someone had a magical solution for me, im sure there is something logical out there. Anyone pleeeeeease haha

Mount it to a piece of slate and cover the slate with sand. May take a few strategically placed rocks to keep the slate down.

If it's a thick piece it will take more than " a couple months".

If it was sold dry, then your in for a treat. If you pulled it out of water than it should only be like half a year until it sinks on it's own.
