sinking drift wood

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Usually just let mine sit in an empty tub or large bucket for a few days, change the water daily to get tannins out and they, after a few days if they are stubborn will always sink. Had one recently I had to semi bury with a rock but by next water change it was sinking on its own.

the piece i bought just sunk no need to soak. if it doesn't just float it in your tank. it wont sink so fast that it will fall on a fish

It depends on what your piece of wood looks like. If it has a nice base, you could attach it to a piece of slate. There are special drill bits available that will allow you to dill a hole in the middle of the slate. Then all you need to do is screw it into the bottom of the wood. In the tank, just bury the slate under your gravel and it won't be seen.
