I just got one of these and was wondering if anyone has any good first hand experience with keeping them in aquaria, feeding, tank set-up etc. They are similar to an Axolotl except they only have fore limbs no hind limbs so rather eel like in that respect. I don't have any pictures at the moment I'll try to post some tonight. It is a very cool looking amphibian. Any good practical info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had one for a little bit. Very cool little guys, always swimming all over the place. He loved cut up worms and also ate bloodworms. I had to take him back to the store because my spotted eel ate his feet off :( so watch his tankmates..

Thanks for the reply. Interesting info I don't have anything in the tank that would bother him but it's good to know I wouldn't want him footless. He is much more active than I was expecting, not in a hyper way but I thought he would hide and I wouldn't see it too much. It's always out searching the botton for food and as no issue with being in the open which is pretty cool. Thanks again.

I don't know from fist hand info but from what I read they do. I'm not sure at what point the injury is so severe it is not able to regenerate, ie the whole limb or only part of the limb..
