Came out to feed my fish this eve and found my nearly 14" silver aro dead on the floor. I have no idea what happened the house was quiet as i was home alone and he shouldn't have been disturbed. Sucks!! It's gonna cost me 60 bucks to replace him unless wait until summer when the price will hopefully go down again. This was one of my favorite fish. I was just waiting to get a bigger tank to put him in (next cpl of months). Sad day for me. Sorry the pics are so typically savage.

thats a shame man ... that aro looks really nice..... check the parameters before you get the replacement... just in case.

Checked water after last W/C on Monday all was fine. My Black Ghost Knife, Clown Knife and Senegal Bichir are still in the tank doing fine. (I won't subject you to more savage pics at this time)

I feel your pain. I have lost 2, 18" and 10", due to jumping. The 2nd one managed to jump out of a 1" wide gap between the cover and tank. Now I am raising the third one.

sorry for you loss...yeah, if it weren't for my 3 dictionaries i keep on the lid to my tank, my aro would be a suicide too...things love to jump. i've found that black water does tend to calm them down alot.

I'm sorry about your loss. I'm sure you'll weigh your lids hardcore next time.

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but is there any excuse for anyone losing more than 1 aro due to jumping? We all know they do it, so why do we not take the necessary precautions?

I'm seriously baffled by those who lose more that 1 aro due to jumping
