A RTC will eat anything that fits in it's mouth but does it really deserve the title of monster?

I'll leave that for another time but I do want to bring up the subject of mini-monsters. The Jack Russel Terriors of the fish world if you will.

You might think that your 5 foot Arapima is a monster but in the eyes of a great white shark it's a light evening snack to enjoy with the late show.

so...what do you all think qualifys as a true mini monster and why?

I'll get things started with the blue crayfish...what more do you need in a monster? body armour...wierd eyes...lot of claws...

well, if you compare anything to a great white, it will be a snack. Unless its a dinosaur...

A mini monster would probably be a breeding pair of convicts. They gang up on fish if that fish is in their territory esp. if there are babies.

I tried explaining that to my ex girlfriend, but she wasn't having it. That's why she's an ex.

i think that jewel cichlids take the cake. my lone male demolished my breeding pair of blood parrots. they had to be taken out of the tank. and before it was mine, it owned a jack dempsey that was 2.5 inches, while the jewel was barely 2 inches, if that. i also heard a story of a woman who put a jewel in a tank with a blue ring octopus (it was meant to be a feeder fish), after 6 weeks it had to be removed from the marine tank because it started to nip at the octopus. it then was placed back with the other jewels and it lived a long and happy life. tough little beggars.

African leaf fish, these guys take down HUGE fish compared to their size.
