I intend to build a 500 gallon aquarium (96x48x28) and have never set up a sump before. I have a spare 75 gallon and was wondering if this would be sufficient or would I need a 120 or 90/100 long? Also, if I can use my 75, would be be a could setup for it if anyone out there with monster tanks have any tricks of the trade. And is there a pump out there that can handle 3500gph+
Thanks

IMO a 75 gallon tank would work for a 500, but I would rather use a 100/125 to have the extra room and water volume.

There are plenty of pumps that will handle 3500gph.

I am using a reeflo pump. they are great and have excellent wattage ratings.
