Size difference

Good question...my grow outs are now approaching eight inches and I intend to move them in with my big boys pretty soon.

I have a 15" Bahia with a 9"-10" broko. I've done a lot of smaller size bass with littler bass before with no hiding spots. All worked out good for me. Keep in mind that some people had their bigger bass eat their littler ones before. It all comes down to your bass, room in your tank and how much you feed them.

In your opinion would I be safe putting 3 six inch bass with 10-12 inch bass???

To be on the safe side...you could do an experiment...and just transfer one of those 6 incher's. If he has problems...then the other two are still safe. If the first guy does fine...then all three should be fine.:)

i think there are a few factors you will have to consider. what do you feed your 10-12" bass (feeder fish... are they similar size). where/how to put them in the tank. i would not place them in the same area you feed your fish, you dont want them to think you are feeding them.

None of my bass eat live food. They only eat pellets and prepared food. There is very little aggression in the tank so I am going to try it and see where it goes. I will let you know the end result

it depends on aggression of your bass when I put my 5"- 6" tems in with my 8"- 9" orino, the orino had tried to eat it literally and got it stuck right pass the head It spooked the orino and it spit it back out so the tem didn't die at that time

Ive been keeping a very young kelberi with big kelberis. It would easily fit their mouth.

Ive been keeping a crenicichla bigger than that lil bass, and the crenicichla was eaten, the lil bass not (even starving the big bass for like 15 days..)

The only problem was the constant bully with the small bass. So I needed to change him.

I know Cichla is a very voracious fish, but never seen myself they doing canibalism, but I have a fishermen friend that said that have seen lots of times tons of small cichla inside of bigger ones and papers saying they would do so in feeding conditioning.
