i have a red tail hybrid tiger shovel and had some conflicting advice on their max size.

mines about 1.5 just now so i know hes got a way to go. i got told they ma out at about 4.5ft but not sure if its gonna get to that with it being hybrid
I have one that I rescued back in december he was 3 inches and is now a bit over 16 inches .
As far as max size goes I haven't seen any Huge ones in person but TklDmn Has some MONSTERS that I beleave he said they are at the 48 inch mark but they are also like 9 or 10 years old and are in a 10,000 gallon pond He has a tons of videos up and they are all Awesome vides you shiould check it out

If you have a large enough tank they will grow to 4.5 feet but a more realistic size would be a bit over 3.
my tank is 7' by 2.6' by 2' i can cope with a 3' cat hes growing quite quick with prawns, mussels, whitebait and beef heart. his only tank mate is a clown knife
