Size of W/D for 210 gal tank

I have a 210 gal tank that will be running an FX5 and would like to take advantage of the bulkheads drilled into the sides to add a DIY wet/dry filter. I have a spare 37 gal tall tank. Would this be a sufficient size for a W/D for a tank my size?

Also - curious as to the Wet Dry vs. Wet Flow system. I've seen some ppl use it, where all the media is submerged. Is there an advantage to the wet flow system? It seems like it would be quieter.

basically the 37 might work but you still need the fx5. w/d is for bacterial as bacteria getsmore oxy.

What would you people put on 210gal as a wet/dry for minimum? 45gal? 55gal?

Rule of thumb 1/4 to 1/3 of primary tank size, depending on extraneous filtering.

Yeah, that makes sense. Hmm.. so 210 (1/4) = 52.5gal to (1/3) = 70gal. I guess no one ever complains about extra bio-filtration.

Okay.. so you guys think if i used my 60gal (which i was saving as a grow-out tank) along w/ a FX5 for mechanical / chemical filtration, that would be sufficient?

Bio load - would entail a 14" Black aro, a 6" Orino, and a 6.5" Mono and a 5" Lima Shovenose Cat. I have two 3" Orino babies I would love to add eventually, but otherwise probably not too many more fish.

i think you would be fine with just the 60 gal wet dry

1) Yes

2) & 3) Yes, just remember that the fish will grow, increasing the bio-load exponentially.

Not sure if you saw this or not,but its what I did for my 210.
Its the only filter on the tank,& works great.
My bio load is very light though.
