I have one bluegill about 4in long and i have yet to purchase a tank for it. What would be the minimum size tank to buy for my new pet?

yes but you'll need to upgrade

ide say a 55 if you have good self control, they are about 180 at petsmart.

lol or like 50 at your local craigslist. dont try aquabid or ebay for 2 resons. 1 their prices arre too much and scammers are all over those. and i found a 100g for about 200bucks but not enought $ to buy

I've kept single 4" gills in a 20 gallon and it did just fine for 6 months until I found a 55 gallon free. I keep a 5" gill, 3" gill, 4" crappie, 3" pumpkin seed, and a crawfish in my 55 gallon but they are soon moving to my 175 gallon thats in the process of cycling right now. They have done just fine in the 55 gallon but they have ALOT of places to hide from each other.
