I am wondering what the size limit or max amount of weight I can have in my studio apartment. I live in a studio in a relatively new builiding on an upper floor. Anyone have any idea?

I currently have a 150 and 65 and 72 and am thinking of adding another 150. Any thoughts or experience?

Thx.

Is the floor concrete and steel or wood?

this is a hard question to answer too many variables that we don't know, but, if i were to guess i would say that u should be fine with another 150 if they are space.

I would ask the management of the building to be sure, then talk to your insurance carrier to make sure you have enough and the proper insurance coverage.

When you rent you have renters insurance, this covers your personal belongings. The building os insurered by the property owners.

I don't see why adding another 150 would be a problem. You will be surprise what that floor can really hold.

Honestly, I have no idea what the building is made out of other than its a relatively new building in ny. The current 150 is against the opposite wall. This would be along the wall in line with the 65 with the 72 at the corner adjacent the 65.

Anyone have a bigger tank in an apartment on an upper floor or have more water weight than I have?

Be careful with the "against the wall" thinking. Make sure it's the bearing wall, or the area is not necessarily any stronger than other spots. I wouldn't do it before knowing what the support looks like.

Very true statement. So you should test it out by adding more tanks until the floor sags and then you'd know you've reached the limit...lol

When I lived in an apartment while waiting for my house to be built 12 yrs ago, I intentionally chose upper floor because otherwise I wouldn't know if the upper resident had a 1000g of tanks on top of me...
