Hi there... I am building a overflow/sump. I have two pipes (1.5 inches each)
leaving the overflow and entering the sump(with ball valves attached).
I have one pipe (2 inch) leaving the sump and going to the motor, then
back to the tank(also with a ball valve attached).
The sump is located aprox. 3 feet below the water line in the tank.
My question is; what size of motor (hp) should I be looking at.
After reading some of the stickies on this site, my guess is 3000gph.
Is this correct???????

Ummm Maybe...GPH are given initially at zero head height.

Chose a pump that will deliver less than the overflow can handle at 3 foot of head.

Check out the graphs on each pump before buying.
