skiddish jar

this is my second jar sold my old one so i bought a 5inch jar had it for about 2 months now but its still skiddish and i hate it because anytime i come close to the tank he just goes crazy and today he went crazy and lost one of his barbels.
what can i do?

have you ever tried live food
(quaritened of course)
it might spark some aggression and he may start to feel like a bad@$$
and not be so frightened

yea i tried that, feed feeders about once a week
