I've had some people point me towards the Red Sea Prizm Skimmer but I wanted some more opinions before I actually buy it. Is there anything cheaper that I could use for this tank? I have no problem paying $90 if it works good, but I've seen some iffy reviews out there.

i think a prizm may be the only thing small enough
i tried using an Oceanic BioCube skimmer on mine at it just failed miserably..

You could try a Taam Rio nano skimmer.
People are saying its pretty good.

also AquaC remora makes a "nano" skimmer and the AquaC series is top notch stuff. My EV 150 is a hog, and pulls about 1 gallon of crud from my 120 every 3 days or so, depending on feeding and what not.
