Skimmer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the skimmer cap says aquarium systems manufactured by instant ocean, salinity is actually low as i just checked it , i have to go get salt today, and i dont honestly get in the tank much other than to scrape the green algae off the glass.. and about green algae it spots on the glass and spreads .. what is it and why and how do i prevent it... i have Tech 1 iodine, and nano reef part A and B, how often should i be putting it in, being that i have been putting it in maybe once a week

you could upload it either to the MFK gallery or to a photo site like photobucket or flickr, etc

they only hang on skimmer that i have never really seen a lot of bubbles being pushed into the tank from would be an aquaC remora. I know ive never had any issues with mine but it was used as an insump application as well so i would really know for sure.

i would also like to know what skimmer your using now.

I no longer have salt but did yrs ago when in High school had a CPR backpack and with the bio bale not a drop went back in the tank loved it.

Have heard the Remora is a power house of a skimmer .

Right Thats what I use now!!!

You might have a water issue also!
If you've got the best skimmer in the world you could still have small bubbles if there is something in the water to cause "tension" that will cause movement to stir up bubbles?

i.e. I put Malafix in my tank to help regenerate fin issues and when I hooked up my skimmer when all done with the meds, my micro bubbles where out of control!!!
they went away after two or three days!!!

increased salinity
recently working in the tank
water changes
touching, moving, or adding new corals
fish like parrotfish, soapfish, or boxfish releasing chemicals into the water

can all effect if or how much bubbles blow out into the tank
