I saw a guy at yahoo answers asking if he could turn his pool into a shark tank. Then I thought what/how would you be able to use a skimmer on that. The largest one I've seen was like 1500. So pretty much what you guys use?

You don't NEED skimmers, but RK2 is the way to go.

OMFG! WOW THAT THING MAKES ME TINGLE!

i just kinda asked this question in another thread... i have a 135 and bought a skimmer that was said to be over skimming a 180gal. and its running a rio 2100 pump for the skimmer... but im looking at dropping the 135 and going with a 700 some odd gallon basement pond/pool so ive been curious if i just go buy a new big beast skimmer, build one.... or use my skimmer and get another....

so in short thanks for making this thread! (ive been debating dropping the saltwater idea but i keep comming back to it after i start thinking freshwater lol)

^^ thats what i was afraid of, about 1000$ for the skimmer alone, found some for 600 but still holy cow!

Honestly, if you're tripping out about $600, maybe a shark pond isn't the way to go...

Sad but true. 600 hundred is nothing when it comes to sharks.

J speaking of etss, are you still thinking of going with the 5000?

How's your pool coming also?

I just left Gary a message actually, I'm going to go with the one smaller, the 3500.

I just received the pool on saturday - it was shipped freight. So it's going up in the next few days. Keep meaning to email you, and then I get sidetracked with work or insurance BS.
