so i saw this skinny/sickly (i would say sickly because is it so skinny) looking 3" ID that i was able to get for $12 yesterday i figured the price is worth trying to beef him up. right now he is in a ten gallon tank temp is 78º i put some a couple ghost shrimp some blood worms and small guppies in there to see if it will eat he looks interested but doesn't 'hunt' anything that is in there just wondering has anybody found some skinny dats and what u did to beef them up. and if he doesn't eat has anybody force fed there dat until it was eating on its own?? i have had to do it to snakes before but never known people to do it to fish. i am hoping to move him to my 100 gal with my 3.5" ntt but don't want to move him till he is no longer sickly looking and is eating well.

Have you seen it yawn yet? I personally would raise the temp to 82+, problem is . . . it will increase its metabolism so it will become even skinnier much faster if he doesnt eat, but it also might bring out some attempts to eat. I there are guppies in there that it can eat size wise, it will. Id just keep doing what you are doing. Also, look for signs of internal parasites.

your crazy i wouldnt buy any fish that looked sick no matter what the price was
