Skinny datnoid

Hello MFK,

I am interested in picking up a few datnoids but had some questions. I noticed at my LFS that some of the dats were skinny and had sunken in stomachs. Is this caused by parasites similar to what causes clown loach skinny disease? I dont want to purchase them and then end up having to treat them with no guarantee of survival.

not positive what it could be, just may be they're starving. You could always ask them to feed first before you buy to make sure they're eating well.

Ask them how long they have been in the store and what they've been feeding on might be a smart idea before you buy

I would say a large amount of tigers kept in captivity are skinny as people under estimate the amount they eat which is why they grow so slow

If you want a healthy well fed tiger that will live a long life feed it hikari pellets
