I was at the lfs yesterday to help out the owner to move some fish around, and as a thank you he gave me a couple fish. One of them being a 6-7" Venezuelan Pike Cichlid, he said he's not eating for me , and he'll die here, so you might as well give it a shot in your tanks. I took him home, and put him in my 110 gallon, with a 7-8" Channa Pulchra, and a 3-4" Irwini Catfish. It's very skinny, and hasn't ate anything yet, is there anything you recommend?

Live inverts!! No creni can resist some tasty live shrimp :)
Live fish would also be a choice.
With both make sure the snakehead doesn't eat them first ;)

when i got my venny he was real skinny also..i put him in my 240g and within a couple of days he was scarfing down sinking pellets...it has since thickend up and is very healthy and growing nicely.....ill try to post up pics of when i first got him and what he looks like now.

It might have internal parasites or something. Try feeding it something live, or something like frozen bloodworms, just to see if you can get it to eat. I always recommend doing this in a quarantine tank so that he's alone and doesn't have to compete for food. They can be shy when you first get them.

If he does eat, then you can fatten him up a bit and get him healthier before attempting to wean him onto pellets and prepared foods.

Unfortunately, when i came home from school for lunch, it was dead.. RIP
